Eric,
I'm sittin here drinkin a beer, and I'm thinkin that if you had a
strong enough magnet, you could stick it to the side and keep the nut
inside from spinning. Then unscrew as planned.
Gwaaa haaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Actually. I would take a torch and heat up a nail. Use channel locks
or something because that nail is gonna get hot. Stick it along the
crack in the plastic. The nail will sink into the plastic, melting it
into a vapor that is wisked away into the wind. Don't breath this
vapor. This will let the nut breathe. You see, the nuts need to
breathe to spin properly. You could then spray some nut-unlocker stuff
in the hole. That would work! It is better than breaking it open.
