That happens when you shift slow enough to let the engine rev up between
shifts. Automatics shift fast enough so that the engine doesn't rev between
shifts and therefore less wasted motion. And no the valve body doesn't control
the O/D shift it is done electrically from the computer. Auto's Rule !!
