RE: attn all JBA recipients

I think it's because there would be more of a disturbance with the
gaps created between the pipe and flange on the inside if they were
welded on the outside. All the headers I have ever seen were welded
on the inside of the primaries. Just last night, I took weld off of
the inside of the bolt holes on my MP headers and also hit the higher
weld spots on the insides of the primaries and collector on the
driver's side header. Didn't even mess with the passenger side as the
obsessive, detail oriented, anal freak in me reasons that the
passenger side will have a slightly better path anyway since it's such
a short trip to the collector!!! (yeah, I'm a freak, leave me
alone!). Used a friend's Dremel - easy and fun. Unless the weld job
is just a complete freaking mess, I wouldn't worry. Maybe go to a
local speed shop and look at some other headers and compare the
quality of the weld - that should help you make a decision about your
situation.

Good Luck,

Tate

After looking at these closer, I'm seeing a lot more. For 1, I will
have to
either drill or file out most of the bolt holes on one of the headers.
 I
really should grind down the over weld on the pipes. Question. Why
do they
weld on the inside of the header to the bolt flange? Why not weld on
the
outside as to not disturb the flow?? I should grind out the exhaust
ports,
theres weld build up on some and on others its smooth on the outer
edge of the
port but inside farther there's a big ridge from the weld. Poor
quality for
even $295. So much for having them on before Milan. I'm going to
have to
send these back unless someone can convince me that this is how they
all are!
Eric
