Russ,
For the head pipe seals I used Permatex copper loaded silicone the read
"sensor safe" on the tube. Its a matter of VOC degree. the old RTVformulas
had lots of acetic acid outgassing during cure but were mostly reformulated
for "todays" cars.

Subject: DML: JBA's & Copper RTV?

I'm preparing to install my JBA's next week, and would like some
advice on the gasket sealer ya'll are using. I seem to remember
something (years ago) about RTV being detrimental to the O2 sensors.
Has this changed? Or are you doing it regardless, and just not having
any problems?

                Thanks,

                        Russ Selkirk
