Sam,
Sounds like fun! with your 5K budget I think you could put the 9.25 diff
with the one piece aluminum shaft from the R/T in too! That might fix the
"premature" diff failures. Im not sure which bearings your talking about
but my 65 cudas seem to need new axle bearings every 85-95K miles. Old
Chrysler tradition on the smaller diffs I guess. Hell, for less than a K
you could have ProGear (in S.D.) put in a custom 83/4 sure grip diff, that
way parts are as cheap as they come!

Bruces estimates:
Engine rebuild (no head work other than refresh+ minor porting/cleanup):
2100.00
Trans rebuild (no major parts, just bearings seals and synchros): 1500.00
new diff and driveshaft(8 3/4): 1200.00
(not responsible for inaccurate estimates:?)

If you need any help yankin out the old iron or etc, give me a holler.
on another note, I got the headers, chip, fresh air etc. on the R/T finally,
and am thinking about hitting the track for a couple runs on Saturday to see
how fast I spent. Maybe those 15.1s are around the corner for me?

Anyone need any nuke programs? (He he)...

Update on the old '95 SLT....

93500 miles.... Strange whining noise coming from rear end again...

@66500 miles I lost the rear main bearings.... Seems pretty poor
quality if they have bit the dust again 27000 miles later!!!

I've already started doing inventory on my truck.... at around 100,000 I
plan
on doing a make over....

(Rebuild the engine- fixing minor oil leaks, check all topend, etc-- , put
on new water pump, replace all hoses,
rebuild the transmission (for piece or peace? of mind), and install
centerforce II
clutch-- Noting additional work to be done on the rear diff...)

What's a realistic $$ figure for the above items??? (I'm planning on a
$5000~ investment...)
