You hafta remember that the Dakota was not designed as a race vehicle or a
muscle truck (unless you are talking about an R/T or something) . The
Tranny on the 5-speed Dak does need improvements , but you have to remember
what the thing was made for . I have seen in the JEG's catalog that Hurst
makes a short throw shifter for the Jeep Wrangler 5-speed. I don't know
why they would make one for the Jeep and not make one for the Dak.
