Ron,
I sprayed about 1/2 a can of Lysol in the intake vent
of our 96 truck a couple of months ago due to a real musty smell.
I thought the same thing that mold or something was growing in the
A/C duct work. Well ends up that the smell was coming from a
severely mildewed carpet padding not the duct work. Seems water
had somehow got into the carpet padding. The way we found out
was by smelling every inch of the truck until we found it. As
soon as we smelled the carpet it was obvious where the smell was
coming from. We changed the padding and the smell was gone.

Good Luck
