I had my '97 put on a dynojet (model 248C...the one used by NASCAR) in
Denver and got some encouraginge results. I had 3 runs, 2 using 3rd gear
and 1 in 4th. I let the truck sit for about 40 minutes before the first
run and then let it sit 10 minutes or so before the 2nd and 3rd. Here
are the results:
1st and 2nd run were nearly identical. 186.2 horsepower, 257.6 torque
3rd run (4th gear) 188.0 horsepower, 267.6 torque
These runs were to the 4500rpm redline. When in 4th gear at 4500 rpm,
the speedo said 110 mph and the fuel shutoff. Anyway, if one were to add
25% for loss through transfer case, tranny, etc it would give a max
horsepower of 235.0 and torque of 334.5.
After I get the Mopar chip and Mopar headers, I'll take her back up and
run again. Air temp was 84.7 degrees. Interestingly, the torque curve
from 1700 - 4000 rpm was very flat (about 250) and then came down abit
after 4000rpm.
thats it from here.
