The factory "security system" is just a starter kill relay attached to
the parking lamps and horn. I got duped into that when I bought mine.
I was sad to see it was nothing more than the above and a light that
blinks in the dash for only ten seconds. It does not protect your
windows or such.

The EVS II alarm adds a shock sensor, siren, and uses the factory
keyless entry transmitter to lock and unlock the doors. I think the
newer version includes a panic button, so it may give you new re
motes. Mine doesn't, but I would never use it anyways, ( I'm never out
of the house without a .45 or two)=20
