when it's revving like older mounts do (IMO), I would also suggest
putting clay or play-dough balls in the center, front, back, left and
right edge of the breather and then rev the motor quickly a few times
to make sure you don't tap the hood when the motor torques the mounts
. For us standard guys, a few light clutch dumps probably wouldn't
hurt either. Better safe than sorry.

Subject: DML: hood to air cleaner measurement

"Has anyone figured out how to get an accurate measurement of the
hood to aircleaner distance? I can't figure out how to get in the
engine
compartment with the hood down to get the measuring tape in there."

Take some clay and make it into a ball, then form it more into a tube
that you can stand on end on top of the air cleaner-make the tube
maybe
6" tall. Shut the hood, then open it up again and see if the clay
has
been smashed down at all. If it has, measure its height and you've
found your clearance. If it hasn't been touched, roll it a little
taller, and try again until you can get the hood to touch it.
