In a message dated 98-09-13 21:08:39 EDT, you write:

<< How much HP gain ? I've been running it for 3 years on my Dak without any
problems so far but I installed and operate according to the directions. Ya
get greedy and your looking for trouble. Mine is 125 HP and everything I've
read says 150 on a stock motor is not a problem but above that your pushing
it
without mods like crank and pistons. I have installed it with several
precautions just in case something fails it will stop the juice. >>

I ran "150hp" jets, but if I ran the trap numbers I got about ~170-180hp gain.
I used a spray bar inbetween the throttle body and the intake manifold. Stock
initial timing.

<< I looked at
SCs and thought I wanted one but the juice fits my useage like a glove and
thousands less.

Hey whatever turns em on but they should not knock something or someone
without have enough knowledge to make a intelligent claim. >>

The price of a Vortech supercharger is getting lower and lower.. I never liked
the initial shock that one gets from nitrous. Sure, you could use a
progressive controller, but that just adds to the cost, plus slamming those
solenoids open and close really wears them out, so add a solenoid rebuild in
every once in awhile, bottle heaters for winter, etc... it all adds up. That's
why I chose a blower for my daily driver. It works alot better ergonimcally
IMO.

Don't think I'm knocking nitrous, as I'm sure I'll end up using it again very
soon .. :)
