Rob,
replacing the existing fan clutch will not solve the problem. This is a
"normal" mode for the Dak fan from what I can gather from the DML members
reports. Electric fans will "fix" the mechanical fan noise, but may have
their own "noise". a few members were going to attempt a GrandCherokee ltd
electric fan "swap". Did this ever happen??

Subject: DML: Cooling Fan

I just bought a '93 4X4 CC 5.2 with the 4 Spd. Automatic and thought I'd
get a piece of this list. Looks like some good knowledge here if you
sift through the BS. Anyhow I sifted through some of the archives and
found reference to replacing the cooling fan with an electric unit. My
Dak has the loud fan syndrome and I'm wondering if an electric
conversion is the best cure or if replacing the clutch will do the
trick. Granted, the electric will give me the option to turn it off at
water crossings, but what is the cost difference between replacing
existing or going electric. I'm sure the answers to my questions are
somewhere in the archives, but they're pretty extensive. Besides this
gives me the opportunity to participate on this list.
By the way I put 31x10.5x15 BFG All Terrain's on two days after buying
the truck and they look sweet, fit sweet and don't rub a bit. The tire
guy told me the trailer package makes the difference.

Thanks for any help,
