Joe:
As I said before, both my Brother and Father have full sized Ram trucks.
My Dad's is an older model 1990, while my Brothers is the "New Look" 1997.
I've rode in both over long trips and in my own Dak. There's no comparison.
The Ram's are trucks: they drive like trucks (though better than the
competition) and ride like them. On the other hand my Dak rides smooth and
silky. The control is tight and fast reacting without a lot of body roll. My
brother's first comment on the Dak was "Wow, this thing glides."
Everyone's comments are dead on. You need to decide what you will be using
the truck for. If you can forsee yourself needing to haul heavy loads
frequently: go for the Ram (and if you can afford it:the diesel- it pays for
itself in the long run and lasts forever). If you will not need the real
heavy load handling, a Dakota with a V-8 gets better gas mileage, weighs less,
handles better, and rides smoother than the Ram.
I can't tow as much as the other trucks in my family but I can sure out
speed, out corner, and out look 'em. ^_^

Is your dakota very easy to drive? How comfortable is it on long term
trips? About what is your MPG? Is it easier to drive than the Ram?
About how much was it's list's price? I see that it is an SLT. Did you
get the SLT or SLT Plus pakage??
