Those of you that recently installed EZ Lockers, are they very noisey in
slow speed turns.
Do you heard a click/clack sound or any vibration thru the truck.

>From the beginning of time (or about the early 60's) that's been the
price to pay for have a locking type differential. Clutch type diff's
(the Sure Grip) have little clutches inside that work there asses off
trying to keep both axles driving. When you corner tho, the inside tire
doesn't have to travel nearly as fas as the outside tire, so the axles
need to slip a little or it would try to push the truck straight,
especially in the wet. Problem is, tho, the clutch type don't really
have that much grip all the time on straight roads...ala drag racing.
The lockers have a more serious way of keeping both axles locked
together. In some models it is even a type of ratchet. However, again,
to corner, they have to unlock or you don't turn very well. Of course
all out race cars use spools. Just a metal tube that the ring gear
bolts to and the axles connect to. No slippage what so ever, but a
bitch to make sharp turns with 5 inch wide tires on the front and water
in the pit area.
