Dak=Ram

Seeing some remarks comparing Daks to Rams, I just wanted to throw a few

comments. I have a '98 reg. cab, 5.2, auto. dak. I just recently drove a

'97 3/4 ton Ram, cummins, auto. on a 2700 mi. trip (Houston to Colo.) I
fully agree with most of what I've been reading on the comparisons
however the fuel mileage. My Dak gets 17-18 MPG if I drive it real nice.

the Ram with the diesel was in the low 20s except when we hit the
mountains 14,000 ft. it went to high 19s. Kind of pissed me off, the
only advantage the Dak has is acceleration. don't ever think a diesel
won't bust a 100. We also had a 400 lb. load in the Ram.

>I've got a 98 dak 4x4. It gets 15-16 on the highway. My brother has a
97 Ram CC Cummins 4x4. It's gets 17-18. It doesn't handle as good, but
it's a foot taller, 5 feet wider (seemingly) and 20 feet longer. :) My
Dak feels like a sports car after I drive his for a day. Now he used to
have a 2x4 CC Cummins, '96 I believe and the mileage was unfreaking
believable. It would get 27-29 on the highway. It even got 20.1 coming
back from Bowling Green KY, to Memphis pulling our 35' enclosed trailer
and gear which must have weighed about 7,500 lbs. Put the cruise on 75
and left it in 5th all the time. I wish I had bought that truck from
him.
