Bob,

They are 2 piece each. One small part is block shaped and comes with
a bolt through it. This will take the place of a valve cover bolt.
Just remove a cover bolt and this will screw down in it's place.
The part with the holes in it makes the other part. Actually the part
with the holes is two pieces itself so I guess strictly speaking there
are 3 pieces to each loom. You tighten down the block piece and then
take the the other two pieces and clamp them around the wires in the
appropriate place. The clamp tightens down with two screws with small
nuts on the opposite side. One screw is longer and the nut on it slips
into a groove on the block piece and when it is tightened down it holds the
two parts secure. Never feels like I'm explaining things clearly --
some of the simplest things are hard to explain I guess. Been a while
since I tried ASCII art but here goes. This shows the block with the
longer bolt through it ( represented by I ) and the loom attached to
it...

Anyway If you are still unclear on how these work, I can take some
close up photos for you.

I think they will work for the 8.5's but you might have to take just a
hair off the inside diameter of the holes. Mine are 8mm and they are
a perfect fit. Once tightened down you can't move the wire through
the hole but it is not enough to damage or crease the wire.

Also if you have the MP valve covers like I do you will need to cut
about 1/4 inch off the block pieces to make them shorter. The way
they came the bolt wouldn't reach far enough to catch threads. But
this was only because of the thick flange on the MP covers. The stock
covers will be no problem. Cutting the blocks down took me all of 10
minutes to do all 6 and clean things up to look nice.
