In a message dated 98-09-28 09:50:03 EDT, you write:

<< Nope, the leaks definatly started after I changed the oil. The garage
floor was clean until then. I also noticed that it pushed out of the
fill cap, pcv, and breather grommetts on my new MP alum. valve covers. >>

I do remember someone mentioning to me awhile back than when synthetics were
first coming out, that they'd eat away and leak through a majority of engine
seals/gaskets. I'm not sure if the gasket material changed, or if the oil
manufacturers changed their formula, but I don't beleive this a problem
anymore. I may be wrong. I do remember a mechanic pointing this out to me on a
older Suzuki.

FWIW, I don't run synthetic oils.. too pricey for my frequent oil changes.. I
run Kendal 20w50 during the summer here in FL, and change it ~1000-1500miles.
