Correct! 97 up has 6.5 in doors. Older models had 5.25 in doors. Also 97 up
can use a fairly large and deep speaker in the doors and the speaker is
recessed so I may find you can actually put a 8" speaker in the doors. I have
a 98 with power windows and I did not find interference with the magnet with
the window up or down. My 89 Shelby Dak did have window interference though.
I would suggest that some good quality 4" coaxial speakers can be fitted in the
kick panels on the 97 up models. This improves the soundstage. The only
speakers that should me in the rear are sub woofers. In a reg cab a 10" woofer
in a slope cabinet fits behind the driver seat and provides quite a lot of bass
without taking up valuable space. More than enough bass unless you are a
rapper!

10" Pioneer woofer in slope front box behind driver seat, 280 watt power
acoustic amp driving woofer.
