Absolutely true - the vast majority of drag cars use automatics. I
think the pro classes use manuals so that there is more "driving"
involved.

thought sure an in car camera in Bob Glidden's car showed no clutch
and
manual shifting of an Auto. Also the two Dodge Avenger cars. Aren't

running Auto's???
The point is, these are some fairly high HP cars (1200HP and more)
using
"slush boxes".

The new rules for NHRA next year say that all Pro Stock cars must be
manually shifted. No Air shifters.
