In a message dated 98-10-12 16:53:26 EDT, you write:

<< I still can't believe that I saw a short-throw shifter made by Hurst in
JEG's catalog for the Wrangler and they don't make one for the Dakota .
>>

Awhile back I sent a message to the Hurst/Mr. Gasket tech line
(tech@mrgasket.com) asking them if they had any plans to offer a performance
shifter for the NV3500 in the Dodge Dakota. I got the typical corporate
response: "we're evaluating that application and hope to produce that shifter
in the future". Maybe if we all sent an e-mail to these guys......(based on
the number of messages that get posted to the DML on a daily basis, I'd think
it would only take a day or two of pounding on these guys to make them say
uncle, and design us a shifter)
