Ans. to a Dakota conv. question from aug.
I am an original owner of an 89 Dakota convertible.
They came out in the middle of the 89 model year.
All of the 89's are the sport model, they come
in only 3 colors white, black, or red.
All had lower black to grey stripes
on the bottom of the door.
DAKOTA SPORT graphics on the front quarter and door.
All 89's have red sport interior color.
They came in ether 4x4 or 4x2, mine is a 4x2 with 4 speed auto
I believe all are v6 3.9 Liter.
Mine has been garage kept and is in pretty good condition.
The 89's were only sold in Fla. & Ca. The Insurance is
less than for my wifes town and country van. With the top up
people rarely notice it is a conv.
With the top down it still gets alot of looks & positive
comments even being 9 years old.
The 89's are rare with only 1500 to 2000 being produced.
Mine is factory with the exeption of dealer add on's .
