Richard, I have had the MSD 6A ignition on my last 2 Dakotas (should have
gone with the 6AL, but my '99 R/T will get it). I loved it. It's simple,
and reasonably priced. It definitely helped (my last Dak, a '95 sport with
318, 5-speed, and 3.90 rear put out 300hp and still got 20mpg), the mileage
started at 17mpg, and improved with the MSD and other performance parts. I
tried a Jacobs ignition on a '91 Ramcharger with a 318, and I wasn't really
impressed, especially considering the price. Hope this helped. Let me know
if you try one of the other ignitions, and how you like it. Thanks, Glen.
