Congrats! Good luck at the track and have fun, fellas. Those et's will
come down little by little. You could try an electric fan if you are so
inclined - that will make a difference.

Hey, that is really impressive, knocking 1.2 sec off your ET is no
easy
feat. So, I have some questions for you. Would you mind telling me
a
little about that Dynomax cat back and the shift kit. I have the 3
inch
SS/T exhaust still (which was made by dynomax) but I was wondering
if I
should try to go with duals. Also, how do you like that shift kit.
I
might just do that at the next trans fluid change you know. Did
that
        help
times any? Thanks for the info. Good luck at them races.

        hi bill

        hi list

our dynomax is the 2 3/4 with the 2 chamber muffler single pipe.

the pipes and muffler bolted on using stock mounting hardware.

there was a lot of talk about whether or not the bigger pipes would
        hurt low end torque.

the stock tail pipe had a really bad crimp where the pipe was bent
to
        turn it
to the outside. we (my son and I ) felt the mandrell bent 2 3/4 was
a
        good
        choice.

and to tell a truth the $89.00 from summit seemed much better than
the $300+ numbers that seemed be the norm on the list.

the exhaust note is good and the 60' times are about 0.2 better
which
should mean we haven't hurt the low end .

i still liked the idea of at least a 3" cat back but dollars
prevailed.

we were hoping for the trans-go shift deal to firm up on the list.

when we talked to koller dodge about a mopar computer, their price
for
        the
shift kit for our '92 was at $50. So we ordered the shift kit at the
        same time.

it turns out to be built by turbo action. good results.

the truck now shifts out of first at 4400...use to shift at 4800. we
        don't
know if the computer is doing it or the shift kit. we did not have
the
chance to do a run while manually shifting. we tryed to play with
the
kick down cable but it did not affect the upshift points, only
downshift.
all the shifts are very good with out being too hard.

before the shift kit we tryed the old mod of pitching the
accumulator
springs and raising line pressure. we had a bit of a problem of not
shifting into 3 from second during wide open throttle. the shift kit
apparently has this figured out as they have you pitch the springs
and crank up the line pressure.

we had hoped to do each mod to our truck one at a time but it has
not
        worked out that way.

we lost our second water pump in 56,000 miles, that also prompted
a power pulley upgrade from Westoaks dodge. a loss of overdrive in
the tranney prompted a replacement rather than rebuild($750vs$1600)
and at that time a shift kit/mod to make the tranney live longer,
seemed
        like a good idea.(see above).

it has been a tough march to where we are running and my son thinks
        we should be faster.

the short bed small cabs have a hell of an advantage over the fat
cab
dakotas. seeing the ets of a baby dakota vs a cc makes us look like
        slackers.

throw in a 360 you have a heck of a mover.

and 4x4's turning 14's and 15's impress me greatly.

also friday nite there was a toyota supra running 11.00's...i'm
        impressed.
