Jon,
Check out Martin's posted web address
(www.eskimo.com/~dalus/bmw/all/engine/all_o2sensor.html) for the O2
conversion data! A great tech discussion by SAE guys on 02 sensor voltage
as it relates to A/F as well as maintenance and testing!
Thanks Martin!
Bruce

Speaking of detecting rich and lean with an O2 sensor...

Does anyone know how to convert an O2 sensor voltage into
an X:1 ratio? 450mv (.45 volts) indicates a 14.7:1 ratio,
but I'd like to be able to take an arbitrary voltage and
compute the actual air:fuel ratio.

A voltage is good, but I think the actual ratio would be
more useful for diagnostic purposes?
