Jake:

They were called Power Wagons in the '70s. The price sounds right, but you
didn't mention condition...particularly body rot .... floor boards also
rotted out. Seats fell apart. Holly carb was a real pain in the butt.
Starter motors died regularly, so did alternators .... can't get good
rebuilt units for them anymore (my experience).

I got rid of my 1978 3/4 ton (360 2wd propane) with a rebuilt trans and
engine because it was costing as much in repairs (and continues for the new
owner) as payments on my Dak.

Particularly with the 4x4, the gas mileage will kill you. Does it have
free wheeling hubs?

Unless you really love the '77...and they were nice trucks, keep your Dak.
The 318 will be adequate unless you are in a real hurry or want to tow. It
was rated about 150 hp.
