As far as I know, they are essentially the same bar the 97-98's are a wee bit
wider. There are minor mods to the suspension but nothing drastic enough to
claim "all new and better".

Of course, unless you listen to what Chrysler and the trade mags had to say about them, then you might conclude that the 97+ is a much better vehicle than pre-97. Same comparison and 94+ vrs pre 94 full size Dodge trucks.
