Late night Rambling

Sorry DML-ers, but I've been working the night shift (10pm-6am) - pretty
quiet - so I've been surfing around and finding stuff on the web for the
Dakota, so thought I'd pass some along (As well as a question or two!).

1) Lifts for the Dak
Dick Cepek has 2" body lift kits available for the 86-95 Dak (Std and Ext.
Cab)
States that the lift kits do not require changes to shock, spring,
driveshaft, or frnt end alignments.

Cepek also has shocks available (88 Series for 'Everyday/Occ. off road' & 77
Series for a more off road oriented ride). 87-95 2WD and 87-97 4WD

2) A question... I'm looking to put on new tires before the weather gets
nasty & will probably go with the BFG Radial All Terrain T/A. To get a
little more ground clearance I was going to use the 31x10.5R15 --- But...
looking at the BFG web site I saw the Specs & compared with the
33x9.5R15 the figures look like this:

                        Rim Wid. Overall Dia. Tread Wid.
31x10.5 = 7.0-9.0 in 30.8 in 8.5 in
33x9.5 = 6.5-8.5 in 32.7 in 7.1 in
Currently running...
30x9.5R15 = 6.5-8.5 in 29.7 in 7.7 in

Does anyone currently run a tire similar to the 33x9.50R15 ?, and if so, are
you doing it with a stock setup? Does any one know if the 33x9.5 will fit
O.K.?

I've still got the stock wheels ('95 SLT CC 4x4, 15x6 wheels... I think -
hey, it's late!) and the 30x9.5R15's have worked fine on these.

On the Daks, isn't the clearance problem more of a width issue as opposed to
height? Since the current tires have 0.6 inch more width, I'd think the
33x9.5 would be O.K., however as I said it is late & I could be delirious.

OK, enough rambling... just a few more items. If you are looking for tires,
go to the Companies web sites. Some of them (BFG = www. bfgoodrichtires.com)
and Goodyear's have very comprehensive specs for their tires. Also,
www.tirerack.com has good info. and some interesting stuff (Diameter
comparisons & Lt Truck fitment charts) under their Tire Tech section.

If anyone is still reading by now, sorry for the long post, but a lot of
folks seem to be talking about tires these days. Any help/ideas on the above
question will be greatly appreciated!

later,
