Thanks, guys.

I used WD-40 as one person suggested since I already have the stuff.
Soaked it for a couple minutes, add some elbow grease and it's off. Now
I have a clean uncluttered tailgate.

                Hey TIA,
When ever I remove a decal or anything that
leaves glue behind
I just take some tape foil or duct tape and roll it into
a circle with
the sticky side out and blot the area that still has the
glue on it.
The glue will stick to the tape as you blot it. You can
even blot it
with the sticky side of what ever you just removed if
you don't have
any foil or duct tape handy. It's worked great for me.

                Good Luck
