  Yep, I would definitely agree with that. That's one of the things that
makes track testing so difficult to judge modification results. There are
just so many variables that can come into play. Weather is a huge one for
sure. The driver does play an important part; I've increased my 60' times
(and thus my 1/4mi times) over time by working on my launch technique. I
could probably go a little faster if I powershifted, but IMHO, the additional
decrease in ETs wouldn't be worth the stress and potential damage to the
truck.

  Another thing to consider: Not all trucks are created equal. Some
trucks come right off the line in a slightly better state of "tune"
than others, so even two "identical" bone stock trucks right off the line
can turn different times even under identical circumstances.
