***All about drag racing, you don't like reading it, I suggest you hit the

O.k. everyone.
Saturday was an awesome day at Cecil County for drag racing. The morning
started out a little rough for me as I about hit a deer, and then about run
over some damn horse and buggy. Then I lost my craftsman racheting
screwdriver, and air cleaner hold down. After that things were a little
better.
Shane and I got there at about 8:30, got teched in, and Shane went up for a
run, and I set back just to see how the program was run at this track.
1st run got me a 15.52 @ 88.01mph. Starting line was slick, and I had a
2.37 60 footer.
2nd run got me a 15.20 @ 88.89 mph. 2.16 60 footer, and I could feel it
spinning on that run.
3rd & 4th run I hit the rev limiter on the 1st to 2nd shift. I kept
adjusting the linkage, but I ran out, and the truck still wanted to pull to
the rev limiter. I guess it's just all 175 horsies in my truck :~)
My last run I was determined to get a half ways decent run in. Went a
15.35, with some wheelspin, and I bumped the throttle to soon on the 1st to
second shift.
I was killin' the tree down there. I had a .515, .505, .519, and a .545.
My 1st run was a .6xx and my second run was a .56x light. After that I was
ON. I think Shane was getting a little mad at me :~)
Everyone that showed up was pretty cool. Mike is a riot. We were all
laughing pretty good. Boog, thanks for the rabbit (I'll get ya next time, I
got my pics developed).
Shane, don't let him borrow those tires, I don't want no stinkin' 4x4
running faster than my Shelby. But for now I still got you boog. :~)
Mike put on a nice little smoke show for his 1st run, but as time goes you
get better also.
Lastly, I hate R/T's :-p
I raced Rich his 1st run. His best previous was a 15.10 at this track.
Mine was a 15.47 at Mason-Dixon and I knew I'd pick up about 2 tenths at
Cecil. Well, the lights came down, Rich had a worse light than me and I
took off. I thought to myself I got this covered good. Out of now where a
red R/T comes flying by and takes me by about 2 truck lengths at the bottom
end. I was impressed. Now I want an R/T
Rich went a 14.69 and I went 15.20. Needless to say I was still tickled
pink. I went 9.68 in the 1/8mi also. You guys that say the R/T has no
top-end need to drive a Shelby with a 100,000 + miles on it. Then you'd
understand what no top end means. I mean, he came from no man's land when
he passed me.
Congrats Rich on that run. I was privelaged to have my doors blowed off by
your R/T, and damn does that thing Shine.
This was a great day. Hope to be able to do it again this year before the
season ends.
Shane, what happed on the way home, I thought we were gonna loose an R/T
when you went to pass that buggy?
Later
