Weird - I have the same setup???? If you need a stock muffler, I can
provide you with one, Sam!

Tate,
As a witness to Sam's exhaust (and many other HP ssytems) His is
LOUD!! It
sounds like a big block dodge truck with blown out Hemi mufflers and
before
the axle dumps. It makes people stare! Sams truck is a "sleeper"
and its
definitly strange to hear so much sound out of the truck. It
definitely
wasnt that loud with the stock Cat...It was a very surprising
result...Then
again I've never seen such a tiny cat with such a big inlet and
outlet...I
find it hard to believe theze trucks are so susceptible to
"lowering" the
exhaust back pressure. My small block cuda seems to love it...

Sorry to hear you had bad luck with that setup, Sam. My experience
has been
the opposite. I dropped about two tenths off of my average 60 foot
times
with the exact same setup - and I wouldn't classify it as "VERY"
loud. In
fact, I honestly wish it was louder, sometimes. Hope you find the
missing
link that will make the exhaust live up to your expectations.

Be carefull with too little restriction though, as I think
I've gone
too
far. I've
got one of Frank's Stage II's, DT headers, 3"collector-- 3"
pipe, 3"
in/out
CAT, 3" pipe, 3" Ultra FLO (aka Straight pipe w/no packing),
and
finally
a 3" tailpipe... VERY loud, and I believe has killed my low
end
(1500-2500
rpm)... Best mileage was 16.5 so far, mixed city/hwy
driving...
City
driving
now yields 13-14 whereas I got 15.6-16 consistantly
previously
(before
the 3" CAT work). The TB works fine, and I've adjusted my
driving
for the
off idle surge that occurs....
