You may have a difficult time finding a tire that has the same height. I
think there is one other tire that comes in a 255/55/17 size. All 17" tires
are "low profiles" that come in 35, 40 and 45 series.

Subject: DML: Swapping Tires at the Dealer when new
Hi, everybody. Because my 99 R/T CC is coming with the
Good-for-A-Year
tires on it, my brother suggested I inquire about the
dealer swapping
them with something else, like a BF Goodrich Comp T/A
ZR4.
Historically, I've found that BF is better, and cheaper
than Goodyear.
Kinda like aftermarket compared to OEM stuff. Anyways,
has anyone ever
done this? Even with just a tire dealer instead of a
car dealer? It
would be interesting to find out. Thanks. I sure love
the DML!!!!!

P.S. I had a set of the 215/50HR17s Goodyear RS-A on my
Avenger ES and
they held out for 85,000 kms (53,000 miles). Not too
bad, but it also
could hardly spin them either :-)
P.S.S. Sorry if it looks like the start of my postings
are chopped off
and for the double spacing. I don't know why it does
that.
