Both NOS and blowers have the ability to "blow holes" in your pistons if the
fuel and spark is way off. Any time you run lean/too much timing and it can
detonate hard enough to blow your head gaskets or melt a piston or break a
rod, etc.
Generally NOS is more hard hitting. So it maybe be more stressful to your
internals and drivetrain. I've read that electronic nitrous controllers such
as Jacobs and NOS will progressively add NOS to the engine to reduce that
"hit".

Well you gotta think that the force that NOS gives out is
alot greater than that
of a SC. I have seen cars with SC on them go 100,000+ miles
with alot tender
loveing care...I have also seen cars on NOS blow holes in
the pistons on the
first try...there are alot a variables with NOS as compared
to a SC. Yes there
are alot of variables with a SC but most of them if you make
a mistake it will
not damage your engine but with NOS just a little too much
and you can blow up
your engine.
