Automotive News put out the following Nov. 30/98 release:

NHTSA, in its monthly compilation of safety recalls, also said
DaimlerChrysler Corp.
is recalling 1998 Dodge Ram pickups with 5.9-liter diesel engines.

On about 25,000 of the trucks, dealers are to replace a low-pressure fuel
supply tube
between the filter and the high-pressure pump because it may break and
spill fuel in
the engine compartment. On about 30,000 trucks, including those in the
previous recall,
dealers are to replace engine controller software because it has been causing
intermittent high idle speeds.

Another 12,000 1998 Dodge Ram and Dakota pickups are being recalled to
replace bolts
attaching the cab to the frame. The bolts were not hardened properly and
could allow
the cab to separate from the frame, NHTSA said.
