Whoa.. that's a whacked way to determine CID. The simplest way to
determine cubic inches is to use 1 cubic inch = 0.016387 liters as
determined with a Webster's Dictionary Weights and Measures.

So... if 1 cubic inch = 0.016387 then:

5.2 / 0.016387 = 317.32 cid -318 rounded up by DC
5.9 / 0.016387 = 360.04 cid - 360
3.9 / 0.016387 = 237.99 cid - 238 rounded up by DC

So conversely-
440 cid x 0.016387 = 7.21 liters
and so on... all makers round their numbers to impress.
This way, you'll get the exact figure, not an approximation.
