The right and left channels are for the FRONT speakers. Perfect bass is
non-directional, so ALL subwoofers are designed to be driven in MONO.
That's why a lot of amps have the "bridging" option, which joins the left
and right channels into a mono channel with roughly twice the power. If
you wanted to go true Audiophile, you'd run your rear speakers (the 6
1/2") in mono as well, because the rear channel is supposed to be for fill
only. The definition (soundstage) is in the front.
