Jack and DML,

This is another example of a Virus Alert hoax. I work in the IT industry, so
I see these at least once or twice a week...

The following URL explains a bit more about this particular hoax. In fact,
the site itself has some really good info on virus hoaxes/urban legends.

You cannot infect your computer by simply reading email, unless your email
reader is set up to automatically download and open/execute attachments.
Email is just a text file, and is harmless. That having been said, be
careful of the attachments that arrive with the email. I wouldn't open or
execute ANY attachment from an unknown source without scanning it for
viruses first.

FYI

This virus warning was sent to me by a friend who works at AIG insurance
and they recieved it from their corporate offices .

I think there has been another virus that acts the same way before with a
subject "Join the crew" or something like that . You don't have to open an
atatchment to have it infect everything , just reading the message will do
it .

The following virus warning has been received - please take note.

If you receive an email titled "Win A Holiday" DO NOT open it - it will
erase everything on your hard drive.

This is a new, very malicious virus and not many people know about it.
This information was announced November 21 from Microsoft, please share
it, with everyone in your address book so this may be stopped.
