Yesterday afternoon the temp. here dropped over 20 degrees in about 30
minutes. I was at work and the temp. was ~75, headed home almost getting
knocked off the road when the cold-front hit, get home and the temp was
in the low 50's (25 min. drive). My manager was involved in the pile-up
on 79 (he was in a demo and didn't get hurt, so all is good). I couldn't
get gas on my way to work this morning because the ENTIRE passenger side
was covered in ice. It may be colder up north, but I swear that 18
degrees in chicago feels like about 40 here in Austin. I think it has
something to do w/ the humidity or something, but damn it's cold out
there. When we went skiing in Colorado last year it was ~20 degrees
outside and all I was wearing was a long sleeve shirt. If it hits 20
here, it is almost impossible to go outside for any length of time. OK
there is my little story. Now lets here the rebutle from the Yankees :).
Erich in Austin
BTW My Dak seems to handle ice a lot better than any other truck I've
driven on ice. Still isn't fun (well, sometimees it is)
