They splice your wires under your dash and run them to the remote starter
brain. The wires they need to get to are from your ignition, near your
brake pedal, and other misc places depending on what options your remote
started has. If the alarm shop has a good reputation then don't worry at
all. If they do a good job and cut the wires right and don't leave excess
wires and tie everything good, then you won't even be able to tell they did
it. You will really love having the remote starter...it makes it so much
nicer in the winter time.

Subject: DML: How Does A Remote Start Work?

Just curious, but how does a remote start system work? I own a 93 Dakota
4x4 Auto, with no power windows/locks. What does the remote start system
get hooked up into? I guess I am just curious what an alarm shop is going to
do to my Dakota this coming week. My girlfriend bought me one and also paid
for the installation.....I am just curious since I really dont like other
people working on my truck when I am not there :) Thanks for any info.
