I have two amps installed in my '98 CC. One's under the driver seat
and the other is under the passenger. These are newer MTX amps and
don't have a very large profile, but it was still a tight squeeze.
Yes, the seats did have to be removed for the install, but it wasn't a
daunting task. I also replaced the rear storage bin with an MTX
Thunderform box, so I'm basically familier with tearing up my
interior. :) I definitely would not remove the stock storage bin
without providing some additional support for the seats. Plus, it's
kind of ugly without the storage bin--there's no carpet under there.
If you want the boom, get the MTX Thunderform--two 10" woofers and
your rear seats work as normal . . . 'cept they 'bounce' a little bit.
