Get the 5.2 with at least a 3:55 limited slip diff and the sport+ package
which comes with painted bumbers. The V6 gets close to that same mpg as the
v8 and you get more bang for your buck with the V8.
Chrome bumbers get rust spots on SOME of them even after a year old.
Limited slip- Must have. I cant figure out why they have an option not to
have lsd.
try http://www.edmunds.com or http://carpoint.msn.com for pricing, reviews
and options.

Subject: DML: About to buy a 99 Dakota
I have a few questions for you current Dakota Owners out there.
First allow me to introduce myself: The name is Ward, I live in the DC
Metro Area and will soon be the proud owner of a Dakota Truck.
I am debating between the V6 or the 5.2 V8
as well as the Painted or Chrome bumpers (Sport or SLT).
The dealers keep trying to suggest the limited slip diff. option but I
don't think its needed... oppinions?????
Thanks for the time and advice folks!!
Ward
