I would like to put my two cents in on the amplifier situation. Every
one so far has put their amp under the drivers and passenger seats
except for me. What I done was to pull out the compartment under the
back seats ( I have a Club Cab ) and I put the amp under the passenger
side seat, not with the length of the seats. I have a PPI 2100 which is
2.25x8.9x15.75 on the 15.75 length it is only poking out of the seat
about 2 inches. Since I took out the storage space I modified a 2x4
with a notch for the tranny hump to support the front of the seats.
Here is why I do not recomend mounting your expensive amplifier under
your front seats, since you only have about 3 inches of clearance under
your seat there is not enough air to disapate the heat generated from
the heat sink. You are basically making an oven under your seats, which
may be nice in the winter, but when it is 120F in your truck and you are
blasting your radio your amp is not a very happy camper, and your amp
will probably go into thermal protection if you are pushing the full
potential of your amplifier. I am getting 400 watts RMS out of my
amplifier and this is used to drive my 4 pairs of MB Quartz RSB 218
components. I have a PPI 2350 which will be pushing 1400 watts RMS to
the BEAST 18 by Digital Designs which is not for sale yet, middle of the
month, you can see the sub at www.ddaudio.com I ran my power cables,
both positive and negative from the battery post under the truck along
the frame and came up underneath the cab on the driver side where the
cup holders would be from the under seat storage. If any one has any
questions or arguments from what I believe please say so, as we are here
to learn from each other. I am not a PROFFESIONAL
