Spedo cable lube!
You probably will have to remove it at the tranmission end, remove a
keeper from the gear if it has one, pull out the core (its dirty) wipe
it clean of grit (solvent may be helpful) and re grease it (I use wheel
bearing grease) and push it back in the housing (you may have to rotate
it as you push), reinstall the gear and remount the end back into the
transmission. It usually works for me and last a long time.
