I just installed a Gibson split-rear cat-back this weekend and I cant get the
tips on. I am thinking the tips I purchased are the weld-on type as they
wont slip on very far over the exit pipes. I bought 3" slash-cut stainless
tips with a 2.5" inlet. I cant get the tips to slide on the pipe more than an
1/8", which is not enough room for a clamp. I didn't order the Gibson tips,
instead I bought the tips from RV Performance because they were a few bucks
cheaper for the exact same tip. Anybody have any ideas? Should I exchange
the tips for the Gibson ones? The guy at RV Performance said the Gibsons were
the clampless design, which I take as being the weld-on type. Anybody know
for sure? I am planning on putting a roll pan on, so I would have to wait and
get them welded after I install the roll pan. Right? My plan was to clamp the
tips on until I installed the roll pan so I could adjust them. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks.
