They use it up north to try and keep the ice melted on the roads . We never
use it here in the South , maybe some sand once a year .

If you are in an area that puts crap like that on the roads , you should
get one of those oscillating lawn sprinklers and stick it under your truck
every so often . As it goes back and forth , it will spray the underside of
the truck good with fresh water and will remove alot of that crap which can
cause rust .
