On my '92 4x4, the biggest tire that I could fit (without cranking up the
torsion bars) was a 30x9.5 on the front (had 30x12.5's on the rear). that's
with no rubbing at all. Any wider and it would rub, any taller and it would
rub. doing the torsion bars might have gotten me a 31, but I didn't want to
do any thing to my suspension travel. The width was the deciding factor on
