Maybe you can heat up the tips so the metal will expand allowing the tips to
possibly slide on.....

I had the same problem with getting my exhaust tips on. What
I did is
slide the tip on as far as possible then(here comes the fun
part)get
something soft like a rag or something wrap it around the
front of the
tip then wack the hell out of it with a 2x4 until you get it
to the
desired postion. I Wouldnt recomend this caveman method but
amazingly
enough it didnt screw up the tips at all. Only problem is if
I ever want
to take them off.........
