Re: dealer service

I got the phone call. Told them that I gave them a rating of 2 (also),
and stated that I brought the truck in for a loose fender (bed), a free
oil change, and the popping noise. The service guy took 20 minutes to
get me checked in (made me late for work), and argued with my re:
the popping noise... AND they didn't call me when the truck was ready...
They said they called (lie), but no one answered... I gave then my PCS
#, which has Voicemail (which I told them to leave a message if I
didn't get the call...) If I didn't have to bitch the guy out (service
rep)
on the phone re: popping noise which they have NEVER heard about
on any Dakotas (yeah right), I told the guy on the phone that they might
have gotten a 4 out of 5...

He asked "What could they do give better service to their customers?"
I replied "Fire the guy that was my service rep/advisor, and get people
that listen to the customer, rather than plug in their 'own' descriptions of
problems or symptoms when a vehicle is brought in for repair." I had to
explain to the bonehead (advisor) that I know there's a TSB and possibly
a recall for the '98 RT bed bolts, and that I have 'friends' all across the
country with the same problem. He said there's nothing listed for the '99
RTs.... I had to EXPLAIN again, that I understand that, but take into
account
that the 99's are so new, that those issues probably won't surface for a
while
(until more 99's are on the road)... and could he please pull his head out
of
his ...... try to put 2 and 2 together to see that the problem MIGHT have
carried
over into the '99 model year, and that he MIGHT be the first guy to actually
care enough about customer satisfaction that he could look into/report this
problem... It was like talking to a wall that didn't echo... You got me??
I've
seen deer in the headlights that had more clue than this guy.

Just to throw out something:
HOW MANY PEOPLE ON THE DML HAVE POPPING BEDS???

and

HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE LOUSY SEAT BELTS THAT DON'T RETRACT??

These I feel will be the TWO main things that haunt the Dakota line.
Crummy seatbeats (I have slammed mine in the door more times than I can
count).
and the mysterious bed bolts that pop only when the service manager isn't in
the
vehicle.

Next dealer visit will be to Carl Burger....with an Attitude...
