That would be a trip of a project..... you're right, I bet it wouldn't
take log nor much to have a VW running like a Banshee.

        Running in the 12's is fairly straightforward for these cars.
Get the weight
        down to about 1650 pounds, build a 200 horse 2 liter engine,
bolt on some
        sticky tires, and Zoom. A stout VW can pull the front tires off
the ground
        with sticky tires. Nitrous, turbos, superchargers, they are all
used in the
        hottest VW's. The fastest ones will run in the high 9's, but
these are race-
        only "Pro-Stock" Volkswagens.

        Just a warning - if you see a trick looking VW with a one piece
fiberglass
        front end, wheelie bars, and slicks, you had better be really
ready to race.
