Thanks Jim,

Unfortunately, I don't have time during the work weak to mess with the
truck and I us backroads to get back and forth to work. The truck seems to
run fine at low speeds.

A general question though, if I crossed plug wires wouldn't the engine run
rough during even low speed operation?

My plan for this weekend is to strip everything off and start from scratch.

Tom

Sure sounds to me like crossed plug wires or cracked dist cap. I washed the
engine
on a car I once had and the cold water cracked the cap and it ran just like you
described. The crack was barely visible too.
